Queensland Theological College (QTC) has been fundraising to save their building in inner Brisbane. QTC tells The Other Cheek they are now in a position to make an offer to the receivers who are selling their building. The collapse of Prescare, an aged care operator has put the Presbyterian Church of Queensland into debt. The College building, as an asset owned by the church, is being sold to pay the receiver’s fees.
“We’re very thankful to God that a wave of generous donations has made it possible for us to make an offer for the building, so please pray that as offers close on October 18 and we enter the negotiation phase that we might be able to secure our home,” says College Principal Gary MillAr.
The College property in Boundary Street, Spring Hill is close to Brisbane’s transport hubs and makes it possible for night students in particular to access the reformed evangelical college.
In an update, in early September the College reported that “almost $4.3m” had been raised up until then, with “progress towards a serious offer” announced later. Offers for the college site close on October 18.
The College is still seeking donations, which will reduce the amount of borrowing that may be required, and urgent prayer.
