I’m not sure how many know that Alice Cooper is a born-again Christian. He has been volunteering at the soup kitchen and homeless shelters for several years now. [The Other Cheek tracked down the original caption for the Pic ben used – “Every Christmas, Alice Cooper serves hundreds of in-need children free meals at his Cooper’s Town restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona.”]
Alice Cooper once made a theological point that has really impacted me. He was asked about how he came to Jesus, and he talked about his Father being a Pastor; then he said that he accepted Jesus, yet he said later on, he came to realise that what he accepted was that Jesus Christ had accepted him.
Alice Cooper had been very much on the other side, just like all of us also were. People think that they’ve done to bad things to ever walk into a church and be a part of it. Yet like the parable of the Prodigal Son, God calls us to simply come home and to return to our Father irrespective of what we have done. Because of what Jesus has done, we each can be forgiven and restored into a relationship with our Heavenly Father, who accepts us!
