Gafcon highlights: key interviews

The best of day one

Foley Beach, the chair of Gafcon, is a down-to-earth Christian. Despite having the reponsibility of leading the Anglican Church in North America, his preaching connects directly to the struggles, spiritual and otherwise of ordinary people. He knows conservative christians are sinners too, and he brings a realism to his Gafcon work.

Michael Stead is just the person, with a razor sharp mind, that you would want to be part of the team to draft an important conference statement. And the Gafcon leaders have drafted (ahem) him on to do just that. He happens to be Dominic Steele’s bishop – bishop of South Sydney – but that’s not the reason we interviewed him.

Plus the Heart of Gafcon team e gathered a bunch of Queenslanders to tell their stories of the Diocese of the Southern Cross – three brand-new churches!
