SAINT church, an Anglican parish in Hackney, East London provides evidence of the “quiet revival” that bible Society research says is happening in Britain.
Al Gordon, rector of the “Alpha” style Church reported on social media:
“‘Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.’
Isaiah 55:6
“Friday night over 2,000 mostly young people signed up to pray through the night. Extraordinary scenes: a thick and heavy sense of God’s presence, dozens giving their lives to Christ, healing, freedom. I want to encourage those of you who were there to journal, record, continue to pray without ceasing.
“Some snapshots of what we saw:
1. 7AM – STILL 500 young people who had prayed 12hrs through the night, but it could have gone on longer.
2. Moments of extraordinary weight & glory. Not comfortable: weeping, repentance, sober. This is around 6:45am.
3. Singing like I’ve never heard: passion, raw, hunger. Often led by the congregation spontaneously.
4. Huge queues to get into the gathering.
5. This snapshot video from the middle of night. Profound, yet not intense. So much joy. People getting saved on the streets around the gathering in the middle of the night.
6. Testimonies of healing, deliverance, salvation, all happening in the room through out the night. Acceleration of life, freedom, joy.
7. Many moments when the whole gathering felt compelled to get on their faces. A sense of holy awe. Hours where the band could not lead, but the singing continues. Spontaneous power falling on people. Sometimes profound silence. Other times shouts, groans, weeping.
“One thing is certain: we are witnessing a profound and sovereign spiritual moment. If you will make room for the Lord, call on him while he is near, he will come and meet you. You can’t orchestrate this, all you can do is humble your heart, go low, cry out for the heavy rain, and he will come.
“And at the end of the day, the true sign of God at work is not numbers, or experience even, its lives transformed, made new, sent out.
“If you were there, please consider encouraging others by jumping into the comments below with your stories, perspective?
“Thank you Jesus!
