Sean Feucht, former Bethel church worship leader, leader of a movement that defied church covid restrictions and the Black Lives Matter movement with concerts that drew thousands in the US has found it hard to draw a crowd in Sydney.
Performing in the small chapel on the main Hillsong campus in Norwest, Sydney, rather than the large auditorium across the car park that seats 3200, Feucht called out a woman in the small audience for being a “witch.”

But a video originally posted as a response under Feucht’s Facebook post shared by the “Hillsong Accountability” group shows that the incident was extremely unlikely to be witchcraft.
Instead, it was sledging – or likely just a heckle, not even a proper sledge.
Feucht is talking about Christians being controversial, and a woman calls out “only when they spread hate, only when they spread hate.”
One might agree or disagree with her point of view, but she is speaking calmly. And there’s a more reasonable rejoinder to her than denouncing her as a witch.
Feucht’s main Sydney “let us worship” meeting was held at the Echo Church in Smeaton Grange.
