No names, no pack drill: here is a genuine post from an evangelical church in a large, well-known suburb, which likely contains Christians who could help.
The Other Cheek is posting this as an example of a plea which could have come from many churches all over Australia. We were given permission to re-post this, suitably de-identified
“*ASKING FOR YOUR HELP*
“If you’re a mature Christian in/around the xxxx area, please read on. Otherwise scroll on by…
“We at xyz church are a solid, faithful mainstream evangelical church that grows in faith and acts sacrificially like what a church should be, though we are relatively small-sized, despite visitors who stay and regular social media presence. About 6 of us (including my wife and me) take up almost 80% of the church duty load; most of these serve in multiple roles every week, most are beyond burnt out, and we cannot sustain it much longer.
“We are asking for external help from any mature Christian nearby. Preferably, 8 or more adults come in regularly and eventually complement our load permanently or for an extended medium-long term. It doesn’t matter if you’re a family, couple or single so long as you’re well developed in the Christian faith – and have genuine motive and real energy. I reckon we need 8 more adults, minimum.
“Please consider helping out the broader church (Matthew 25:40, Ephesians 6, Galatians 6) and joining us. I know what will happen if we don’t get meaningful help soon
. I’m open to having a further chat with you privately about where you are and our needs if you want; otherwise come and visit us first, Sundays at 10am. Thank you!”

Not my words: If you love Jesus you will obey his commands. This means love one another, which in context means: foot washing fellow believers. No foot washing = no obedience = not Christian = no salvation.
My words: Come on people, we can do better.
