Defence Anglicans remembers Air Force Chaplains on this Anzac Day

At the local dawn service in Burwood the mayor John Faker highlighted the service of another chaplain, John Dempsey the local Congegational Minister who enlisted in
1916, succumbing to septic pneumonia after his ship was torpedoed. But served for eight months before his death. As Faker pointed out, his wife Lily and two daughters also encountered a sacrifice for their country.
Judge Doug Humphries, patron of the local RSL, finished his commemorative address with the words of Kemal Attaturk welcoming the fallen Anzacs as sons of Turkey too.
