Happy Afters: A special song that brings calm.

A mother writes about a blessing for her daughter.

C has had chronic illness all her life. Starting life with ongoing kidney issues, she now lives every day with the symptoms of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Chiari Malformation, Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome, Gastroparesis and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. For the last four or so years, she has been listening to one song all through the night on repeat every night as an encouragement. She is often awake during the night with pain and nausea, so the lyrics of this song have been an encouragement to her.

The song is I Will Fear No More by The Afters. She has had the lyrics tattooed on her arm. She is the top listener in the whole world of the song, with over 35,000 listens per year!

“Every anxious thought that steals my breath
It’s a heavy weight upon my chest
As I lie awake and wonder what the future will hold
Help me to remember that You’re in control
You’re my courage when I worry in the dead of night
You’re my strength ’cause I’m not strong enough to win this fight
You are greater than the battle raging in my mind
I will trust You, Lord I will fear no more”

The Afters are in Australia on a concert tour. We had been trying to work out how to get C interstate to one of the concerts to see them live. Through a music connection, I was put in touch with Vision Radio, who put me in touch with The Billy Graham Foundation.

The foundation were so moved by this story that they have funded our tickets and accommodation for C and I to fly to Canberra to attend The Afters concert.
C is so excited to be getting to meet the band! C struggles every day with ongoing chronic health issues with little known treatment options so we are so pleased she has been blessed with this amazing opportunity. We will be live on air with Vision Radio on Monday morning 1 July.
Thankful to God for this amazing blessing.
